Founded in 1999, The Dance Workshop has already established itself as a leading dance school committed to producing educated dance students of excellence.

With Classical Ballet as its base, The Dance Workshop also specialises in Contemporary dance and Jazz dance. Classes are also taught in Flamenco dancing, Hiphop, Latin American and Tap. This combination of dance forms is encouraged to equip our students and dancers with all the physical tools of their art, as well as the intellectual needs of the modern artist.

The teachers’ dedication within the school’s philosophy has produced excellent outcomes, with major students gaining outstanding results in their dance examinations. Every year, students from The Dance Workshop are successfully auditioning for international vocational academies. The Dance Workshop aims to set its mark as a stepping-stone towards vocational training.

The main objectives of The Dance Workshop are to be at the forefront of the development of dance training with excellence in performance as its core element.

To encourage students to take a profound interest in dance and the theatrical arts both physically and intellectually and to encourage creativity and innovation in all aspects of dance.

In September 2010, The Dance Workshop moved to new premises in Guardamangia. This ex-factory has been converted into a state of the art new school, which boasts of three fully equipped dance studios. Each studio has a Harlequin dance floor, all on a suspended floor. All three studios have wall-to-wall mirrors, which have been rendered shatterproof to ensure the students’ safety. Barres have been fitted into the studios at different levels to suit different heights. Each studio has an electric keyboard as well as a hi-fi system. Air-conditioning and ventilation units can be found in all studios to ensure a constant flow of fresh air whilst the studios are in use.

The Reception area has been designated as a quiet area furnished with tables and chairs where students can catch up with their academic studies.

Dressing rooms and toilets/showers are also available.

Parking, free of charge, is easily available at the multi-storey car park, which is 50m away from The Dance Workshop. The premises are also very accessible by public transport, especially for young adults. A bus terminus is situated in front of St. Luke’s Hospital, some 150m away and the main Msida bus stops are within 5 minutes walk of the school.
